From the Cowley Schools Roll Of Honour:- Joined 1917. Was trainning 3 months with the 53rd Cheshires at Kinmel Park. Transferred to Curragh Camp, Ireland, where he remained 3 months. Put into Lewis Gun section. Sent to France with the 2/23rd London Regiment (East Surreys). Was Killed in Action September 2nd 1918. Parents received a kind and sympathetic letter from his CO who had taken a keen interest in him.
