Martha had two children: John Dickinson b Horwich 16/07/1902 and Rose Bennett b Prescot 13/10/1910 (illegitimate). A third child Martha Bennett died aged 8 hrs on 23/11/1915 at 17 Epson Street, St Helens. Williams sister Annie Bennett of 34 Fleet Lane was present at death.

Not identified before 1911. 1911 - Sees 24 years old 'Boiler Stoker' William living at 17 Epsom Street, Parr, St Helens with wife of two years (unmarried?) Martha (31), illegitimate daughter Rose Bennett (5 mths) and stepson John Dickinson (8). It seems as if the couple said they were married when filling out the 1911 census which they were not.
