Reported by Mersey Z/11 J.H. Kelly: 'He took part in the advance on Achi Baba on 4/6/15 & from information I have received from Leading Seaman Langford, also of 'D' Company, Howe Bn, he (Langford) stated that he saw Atkins hit in the head just before reaching the Turkish Trench.
Atkins did not return to the British Lines after the charge & has been reported as missing since that date. Reported by Sussex 3/232 Leading Seaman Langford: Saw Atkin killed about 20 yards from the Turkish Trenches on 4/6/15.
