1891 - 5 years old Ralph is living at 108 Merton Bank Road, Parr, St Helens with parents Joseph (35), Mary (36) and five siblings: Jane (11), Thomas (9), James (7), Joseph (3), John (8 mths). 1901 - 15 years old 'Glassmakers Apprentice' Ralph is living at 41 Grant Street, St Helens with parents Joseph (46), Mary (47) and six siblings: Thomas (19), James (17), Rebecca (15), Joseph (13), John (10), Charles (8). 1911 - Sees 25 years old 'Collier (Dataller)' Ralph and wife of one year Annie (22) living at 21 Creswell Street, St Helens with brother James (27) and his wife Priscilla (27).




On the night of the 5th of May 1917 whilst digging a trench, a high explosive shell casued a direct hit. Ralph Hull and two others were instantly killed and others were left mangled. Pte Hull disappeared in the explosion and was never found. He had been in France for some 5 months was aged 31 years and was married with two children, living at 51 Peter Street.
