From the Cowley Schools Roll Of Honour:- Joined as a private in the ranks of the 2nd Battalion, the Liverpool "Pals". Commissioned in the 5th South Lancs Regiment August 1915. Served in France with this regiment. Later was attached to the 7th South Lancs and whilst with them was killed in action July 1917.
