1891 Census has 7 year old Frederick living at 36 North Street, St. Helens with his father William, aged 41 (Chemical Labourer) Mother Mary aged 33 and sister Mary L Boardman aged 5 years. 1901 census sees the same family now residing at 2 Brynn Street, St .Helens. Frederick by this time is 17 years old and is employed as a general labourer.

This was whilst serving with the [color=#353c41]5th Medium Battery, RGA at Mesopotamia.[/color][/color] [color=#000000]Buried at Basra War Cemetery[/color] Basra War Cemetery - [color=#343735]in 1935 it was decided to remove all the headstones as the salty soil had caused them to substantially deteriorate. Instead, all the Commonwealth casualties were commemorated on a Memorial Screen Wall which was built in the same year.[/color]
