Also at the address is visitor George Eddleston (36). 1911 - Sees 36 years old 'Colliery Dataler' Adam living at 71 Croppers Hill, St Helens with widowed mother Mary (63) and two siblings: Alice (26), Beatrice (22).

Born 1874. Resided at Phythian Street Lugsmore Lane and Owen Street,Thatto Heath Formerly a collier, In 1914 attested 17820 Private in the 6 Battalion Royal Fusiliers, after 48 days and a stay in hospital, cause unknown, he was judged unfit for regular service but fit for the reserves On 5th July 1915 joined No7 Supernumerary Company 2nd 5th South Lancashire Regiment (Prince of Wales Vols) as Private 20858. A territorial force company of ex national reservists from the area aged between 38 and 50 for service anywhere in the UK. Service was for 1 year On 18 August 1915 aged 40 he was accidentally killed by a motor wagon trailer in Westfield Street, St Helens whilst off duty.
