Private 2944 Edward Perrin

1901 - 3 years old Edward is living at 1 Garden Street, Newcross, Manchester with parents Frank (27), Charlotte (27) and brother [cas=1191]Thomas Perrin[/cas] (5). 1911 - Sees 14 years old 'Tailors Errand Boy' Edward living at 11 Vernon Street, Ardwick, Manchester with parents Frank Edward (34), Charlotte (37) and five siblings [cas=1191]Thomas Perrin[/cas] (16), Jane Eliz (10), Daniel (8), Joseph (3), Richard (1mnth).

The following information was obtained from an on-line Forum:- Pte 2944 Edward Perrin had a brother who was also Killed in Action:- Thomas Perrin, 2541 of the 1st Battalion of the Manchester Regiment, KIA 08/03/1916 in Mesopotania. Edward lived at 27 Helsby Street, Ardwick, Manchester, and went to Egypt on the 14/07/1915. He fought at Gallipoli and died of wounds in hospital at Etaples on the 08/10/1916 aged 19. 2541 Thomas Perrin lived at 34 Butterworth Street Manchester and was married to Florence (nee Hughes). He was called up from the reserve on 05/08/1914 and went to France on the 15/08/1914 with the 2nd Manchesters. He was wounded in the retreat from Mons and evacuated to Hospital back in England. He was later killed in Action during the Relief of Kut with the 1st Manchesters on 08/03/16 aged 21. Both sons had the Parents Frank and Charlotte - Charlotte was a Wigan Lass but Frank was from St.Helens and the boys were born there before the family moved to Manchester.
