1891 - Samuel 1 is living with his parents Henry 42, Ann 42 and siblings James 17, Letitia 12, Martha A 9, Henry 7 and Aaron 4 at 39, Pimbo Road, Billinge Higher End. 1901 - 11 years old Samuel s living at 39, Pimbo Road, Billinge Higher End with parents Henry (54), Ann (52) and four siblings: James (27), Martha A (20), Henry (18), Thomas (8). 1911 - Sees 21 years old 'Brick Wheeler' Samuel living at Crows Nest, Crank, St Helens with parents Henry (63), Anne (63) and four siblings: James (37), Aaron (24), Thomas (17) and marriaed sister Martha Alice Penlington (29).

Samuel was born on the 14th of January 1890 the son of Henry and Anne Hart of Kings Moss, and was baptised on the 16th of February 1890 at St. Thomas' C.E. Church, Upholland. He was the ninth of ten children and attended Crank School. The family lived at 'Crows Nest' a farmhouse halfway up Shaley Brow. Samuel went to work as a Police Constable in Hebden Bridge in the West Riding Constabulary, Yorkshire, and was living there at 7 Albert Street when he married Jessie Paul of 84 Rainford Road, Billinge on the 22nd of February 1915 at St. Aidan's C.E. Church, Billinge. Samuel joined the Royal Field Artillery and while stationed at Catterick Camp died there suddenly of heart disease on Wednesday the 24th of January 1917 aged 27 years. He was buried on the 29th of January 1917 in St. Aidan's C.E. Churchyard, grave 9/30 (Ext 250).
