Also at the address is lodger Henry Birchall (53). 1911 - Sees 22 years old 'Coal Miner Labourer' Fred still living at 11 Fair View, Billinge with adoptive parents James Green (53), Elizabeth Green (51) and their daughter Jane Ann Green (18). Lodger Henry Birchall (64) is still at the address.

Frederick was born in Sheffield in 1889 but was living in Billinge with his foster parent James and Elizabeth Green of 11 Fair View, when he enlisted at St. Helens to join the South Lancashire Regiment. While serving in France he was wounded and died there on Wednesday the 9th of August 1916 aged 27 years. Frederick is buried in Dive Copse British Cemetery, Somme, France, grave 1.B.14. His name is recorded on both St. Aidan's C.E. Church and St. Mary's R.C. Church Memorials.
