July 6, 1918 the Commonwealth & Dominion Line cargo ship Port Hardy was sunk by SMS U-91 about one hundred miles west of Tangiers, Morocco. She was en route from Buenos Aires to Genoa when Sunk. 7 of her crew where lost including Fireman Thomas Kay.
