1901 - 4 years old Harold S, fathe Solomon (38), mother Ann (33) and siblings Lily (17), Thomas E (6), Horace (2) are living at 375 Clipsley Lane, Haydock with grandparents Henry Twist (63) and Alice Twist (63). 1911 - Sees 14 years old 'Coal Miner Haulage Hand' Harold s living at 360 Clipsley Lane, Haydock with parents Solomon (48), Ann (42) and seven siblings: Lilly (27), Thos Ernest (16), Horace (11), Olive May (9), Gladys (7), Edna Evelyn (5), Gertrude (3). Also at the address is widowed grandmother Alice Twist (74).

Harold S was employed as a 'Motor Driver' when he attested.
