1901 - Hugh 6 b St Helens is living with his parents Thomas & Mary and siblings at 6 Birnham Street, Pendleton, Salford, Lancashire. 1911 Hugh 16 an apprentice mechanic is living with his parents Thomas & Mary and siblings at 12 Rochester Avenue, Salford, Lancashire




There appears to be no  record as to when Hugh Parr enlisted. His service record indicates that he had returned from France when granted a 10 day furlough on 31 Jan 1917. At this time he is described as Pte 37599 Lancashire Fusileers and his address on leave is 50 Norway Street, Seedley, Manchester. His MIC shows that he was eventually promoted to Sgt with the Lancashire Fusiliers and at some point transferred to the Royal Garrison Artillery. On 16 April 1919 Hugh reenlisted in the Royal Garrison Artillery for 4 years. He kept the same number and rank. He was posted 10 Nov 1919 and embarked for Aden 16 Mar 1920. Hugh died 2 Apr 1920 from bronchio pnuemonia in Alexandria.
