02/07/1943 Oxford MP281 of 6 PAFU crashed near the guardroom at Moreton-in-Marsh. Sgt K B Astall was killed. The Airspeed AS.10 Oxford, was a training aircraft employed by the RAF in World War 2. No.6 (Pilot) Advanced Flying Unit, RAF Chipping Norton, was a Pilot Training establishment in Oxfordshire. Ft.Sgt Astall was accidentally killed when his Oxford Trainer crashed close to Morton-In-Marsh Oxfordshire. There were no other casualties and his body was recovered for burial.
