Norman was born on the 28th of August 1909 the son of John and Ann Parkinson, (neeChisnall), and was baptised on the 5th of September 1909 in St. James' R.C. Church, Orrell.
His father died and his mother re-married Samuel Parry in 1914. His mother died in 1932 and is buried in St. Mary's R.C. Churchyard.
Norman was called up and joined the Pioneer Corps. He died on Monday the 24th of January 1944 aged 34 years and was buried with his mother on Saturday the 29th of January 1944 in the family grave in St. Mary's R.C. Churchyard, grave 4/64.
His name is recorded on the grave headstone.
